1.2. Database recovery from a backup copy on another server:
1.2.1. Copy files of the latest full or differential backup to the local disk
1.2.2. Create new database <New DB> in Management Studio
1.2.3. Database <New DB> right-click Tasks->Restore-> Database
1.2.4. In the General tab select Source for restore: From device. Select a path to full backup copy file
1.2.5. In the Options tab flag the ‘Overwrite the existing database’
1.2.6. In the Options tab, section ‘Restore the database file as’ select a path to database file <New DB> (by dafault: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\<New DB>.mdf) and database journal file (by default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\<New DB>.ldf)
1.2.7. In the Options tab, section ‘Recovery state’ put the flag in the mid position (Leave the database non-operational, and do not rollback uncommitted transactions. Additional transaction logs can be restored.(RESTORE WITH NORECOVERY))
1.2.8. Press the ‘Оk’ button. Full backup recovery process has been launched.
1.2.9. After the full recovery has ended, proceed to recovery from differential backup. Database <New DB> right-click Tasks->Restore-> Database
1.2.10. In the General tab select Source for restore: From device. Select a path to differential backup file
1.2.11. In the Options tab in section ‘Restore the database file as’ select a path to database file <New DB> (by default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\<New DB>.mdf) and to data base journal file (by default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\<New DB>.ldf)
1.2.12. Press the ‘Ok’ button. Differential backup recovery process has been launched
