b2ap3_thumbnail_iStock_000002944330XSmall.jpgIt is quite often that we face a situation when we have to purchase a new, larger capacity HDD to move all information from the old one to it. At the same time it is not necessary to get involved into a complicated procedure of reinstallation of operating system or reinstallation of any other software. Experienced specialists from the service centre can professionally and timely move your entire configuration from the old drive to the new one. As a rule, the process of moving the structure can be divided into three stages.

1. The first stage is installation of new hard drive disk into the computer just next to the old one. Making this on an ordinary PC is not a problem, but if we are talking about pocket or mobile computers, here you would have to insert a new storage device into external USB case.

2. During the second stage it is required to create an identical image of the content of your old drive. This process is called the cloning. Upon completion of cloning, the new HDD will have the same name, it will be divided into same logical disks and contain the same information as your old drive. In order to clone the drive it is required to use special software which is always ready at hand by the specialists from any service centre. It is worth mentioning that cloning is not simply copying. Simple content copying will not bring any results. It is crucial to do specifically the cloning with the help of special software.

3. Upon completion of cloning it is required to extract the old drive and install a new one into its place.

4. If the old drive contains critical information then it is advised to move partitions to the new drive one by one. This will involve creation of a file image for every logical disk.

It should be noted that despite seeming simplicity, the process of moving old structure to the new drive contains a multitude of hidden rocks. Any incorrect action might lead to data loss resulting in additional expenditures. Therefore, to save your time and money, trust this job to the professional service centre.
